Simple Homemade Crepes Recipe

Crepes are a type of pancakes which are very thin, with buttery crispy edges. They are made with eggs, milk,flour and butter. These simple homemade crepes recipe is so very easy to make and are very versatile. These crepes can be served sweet or spicy with a lot of toppings.


You need not eat crepes only on the carnivals or any specialty breakfast houses. You can very simply make them at home with pantry ingredients. They are easy to make and serve. You can serve these crepes with simple toppings like honey, maple syrup, chocolate, nutella, seasonal fruits and so on.

In my pics, you can see I have the makings of an apple pie but in crepes form making the basic homemade crepes into special apple pie crepes. You can make the crepes and make them special with your own toppings as well. Savory or dessert crepes, they will be a hit in your home.

Simple Homemade Crepes Recipe

A perfect, delicious and simple crepes recipe – Thin french pancakes made with batter made from pantry ingredients like flour, milk, butter and eggs that will come together in a blender.
Prep Time 10 mins
Cook Time 15 mins

  • Blender – Optional
  • Frying pan/Non Stick Pan


  • 2 Whole Eggs
  • 1/2 Whole Milk Use dairy free if you like
  • 1/2 Cup Whole Wheat Flour Or All purpose flour, GF will work too.
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon Optional
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter Or Oil to grease the frying pan


  • In a large mixing bowl or a BLENDER JAR add the eggs, milk, flour, salt, vanilla and the ground cinnamon.
  • Blend for 15 seconds. If using mixing bowl, combine with a whisk until you have smooth batter.
  • Heat the frying pan and add 1/4 tsp butter. Grease the pan thoroughly.
  • Add the batter, about 3/4 of a laddle and swirl the pan carefully by holding the handle so the batter spreads evenly in the pan like a thin pancake.
  • Cook for 2 minutes until the edges crisp and flip it carefully with a spatula.
  • Cook for another minute and place in a plate. Fold into 4 if you like, or roll as you like.
  • Repeat until the batter is over.
  • Serve with toppings of your choice.

Apple Pie Crepes

  • Serve the crepes with sliced apples, caramel sauce, ice cream and a dusting of icing sugar.


  1. Use any milk you like for the recipe.
  2. Same with the flour, use flour of your choice.
  3. Spice it as you like – Ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom – all will work.
  4. Cook both the sides and use a good spatula to flip carefully.
  5. Dust the crepes with icing sugar and serve with ice cream to make these crepes dessert crepes.
