A simple recipe for using up the seasonal strawberries – Strawberry Chocolate Marble bread with pink frosting.
Strawberry Chocolate Marble bread with pink frosting
Ingredients
- For the Bread
- Vegetable oil 100ml
- Sugar 150 gm
- Eggs2
- Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
- All purpose flour 225g
- Baking powder 1 1/2 tsp
- Baking Soda 1/2 tsp
- Salt 1/2tsp
- Cocoa powder 2 tsp
- Strawberry puree 2tsp crush and puree 4 to 5 fruits
- Freeze dried strawberry powder-2tsp
- For Frosting
- cream cheese 25g
- Icing sugar 175g
- Vanilla extract 1tsp
- Strawberry puree 2tsp
- Freeze dried strawberry powder 1tsp optional
Instructions
- In mixing bowl add the vegetable oil and the sugar.
- Mix well.
- Add the eggs and the vanilla extract Mix.
- Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda and the salt. Mix well.
- Divide the batter into 2 equal halves.
- To the first half add Cocoa powder
- To the other half add the strawberry puree and freeze dried strawberry powder
- Pour the batters into lined and greased loaf pan. Spoon in alternate batters if you want a zebra pattern.
- Bake 180°C for 45-50 mins.
- Cool while you make frosting.
- To make the frosting add all the frosting ingredients to the mixing bowl.
- Mix until smooth .
- Drizzle over the cake.
