Method:

1. Heat the sesame oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, chana dal, urad dal, dried red chilies, and peanuts. SautΓ© until they turn golden brown.

2. Add curry leaves and asafoetida, and continue to sautΓ© for another minute.

3. Pour in the tamarind extract and cook it over medium heat until the mixture thickens and the oil starts to separate. Stir occasionally.

4. Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.

5. Let the Pulikachal mix cool down, and then store it in an airtight container. It can be kept at room temperature for weeks.
