Spicy Kanji and onion pakoda.. one of the favorite breakfast combination in our home. Made in @instantpot.in This Kanji or congee is all load the ingredients, wait for it cook itself and you serve type of food. Just the type I like, most of the times.
Add a cup of rice, 1/4 cup of Moong dal or masoor dal, 6 cups of water, sliced onion, tomato, green Chilli, chopped garlic, fenugreek seeds, 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder, chopped coriander and mint leaves, salt and tsp of ghee.
Set to rice mode.. and after it’s done and serve hot ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Congee with onion Pakoda- Kanji from leftover rice

Kanji with onion pakoda.. Also known as congee in South Asian cuisine Kanji is the highest form of simplicity.
I started mine with leftover cooked rice that I fermented overnight with plain water. Then in the morning added fenugreek seeds, more water and few sliced garlic cloves and pressure cooked in the instant pot. With some fried onions it is the best breakfast one could ask for.
