Instructions
Make the brown butter - melt the butter in a sauce pan and reduce the flame into low and let it brown. Take it off the heat.
Add the chocolate and let it sit for a minute. Whisk well until smooth.
Add the sugar and mix well.
In a separate bowl, crack open the eggs and whisk until frothy.
Add the nutella to the eggs. Whisk again until it is fully incorporated and frothy.
Add the egg mixture to the chocolate butter mix and combine it all.
Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Mix just until combined and the brownie batter is smooth and shiny.
Add the optional ingredients and mix them through, if using.
Pour the batter in a greased square pan and bake in a 180 degrees Celsius preheated oven.
Bake for 45 -50 minutes. Let it cool slightly before cutting them into 9 equal sized bars.
Notes
Make the brown butter for the most flavorful brownies - Just let the butter melt and cook in a low flame until the butter is brown in colour.
Do not forget the whisking of the eggs. That is key for the shiny top, crispy edges and chewy brownies.
