Gulab Jamun.. I mostly use the readymade mix to make these sweet sugar soaked fried dough. Easier that way..
Made these for Eid on Friday. The day except for the prayers and the thoughts to keep my son happy about the day wasn't much. We didn't even make anything nice for lunch. Simple food as normal as any day. Situations aren't very great, news around making us all nervous every time we dare to see some. News like People suffering, leaving homes, insufficient medical supports, no giving proper last rites to the family & friends makes me feel so very bad about celebrating anything nowadays. However, we owe it to the kids in the family to give them a normal environment as much as we can; help them really understand the circumstance where we don't celebrate a festival with relatives and friends, not to get their feelings hurt and make them look forward to the festival the next year no matter how gloomy this time is.
In the hopes everything get well and normal soon. Pray for health, safety & peace.

Simple breakfasts are always good. This right here are some simple and humble rice rotis[Also known as akki roti, but no added flavor or savory notes here] grated coconut with good old white sugar, grapes and maple syrup. Simple, but kind of a treat too. I didn't plan to put together this picture, it came about naturally when I gave breakfast for Raahil.
How to make rice roti -
250gm Rice Flour
180 ml very Hot boiled water
3/4 tsp Salt

Make smooth dough with the rice flour, hot water and salt.
Divide them into small balls, flatten them into rotis[use parchment paper to avoid sticking], cook them in a hot pan with ghee.

Simplest Blueberry Honey Galette with almond crusted top. With only the basic ingredients, galettes are always close to my heart. I always use different fruit filling in a butter-y pie crust and bake them for a quick, delicious snack fix.
