French Toast with a little twist

French Toast with a little twist

Classic French toast with a little twist! I made these with plain white bread and added a bit of salt for extra flavor. Then, I topped it with yummy maple syrup, juicy blueberries, and tasty berry jam. It’s a breakfast that’s both sweet and savory – a real treat for the taste buds!
Recipe is below for my simple French toast recipe for you using white bread slices:

Ingredients:
– 4-6 slices of white bread
– 2 large eggs
– 1/2 cup milk
– Pinch of salt
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
– Butter or cooking spray for the pan
– Maple syrup, blueberries, and berry jam for serving

Instructions:
1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, pinch of salt, and vanilla extract (if using).
2. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter or cooking spray.
3. Dip each slice of white bread into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are coated well.
4. Place the coated bread slices onto the hot skillet or griddle and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
5. Once cooked, transfer the French toast to serving plates.
6. Serve the French toast with maple syrup, blueberries, and berry jam on top.
